Pain Can Scar, But Healing Brings Relief

Sistine Chapel Ceiling

Jennifer Dukes Lee published a blog post on (in)courage titled “You Don’t Have to Hide Your Scars.”  It contains much substance and is worthy of spending a couple of minutes to read.

Some of us have external scars which verify the healing of our body after an accident, surgery, or abrasion of some type.  Those physical scars constantly remind us of the pain that was.  Yet, we eventually overcome the pain and experience living a whole life.

Though some of us lack physical scars, most all have the internal type – scars of emotional, mental, spiritual well-being.  These scars also heal, yet the pain involved can be recalled in a flash when triggered.

As Jennifer points out, no doubt someday you will be able to share your scar with another person in a similar situation.  As an experienced person, you can assist others through their tough times.  In the end, we may have many reasons to thank God for our scars.
