Today is the day to celebrate my daughter’s birth! We had her for 35 glorious years! She was the perfect child: industrious, ambitious, diligent student, compassionate, always in a circle of friends, liked to include outsiders into her group, talented, artistic, competitive, a harpist. She was not athletic, but she was a dancer. She didn’t like cooking, but could make beautiful decorated cakes. Perhaps her most memorable skill was organization!
She was sensitive and emotional. I used to say, “Karin cried 24/7 for the first three months of her life, and she hasn’t slowed down much since.” She LOVED birthdays! They were very important to her. But, being sensitive and emotional, she usually had at least one cry on her birthday.
She was born September 28th 1973 — 42 years ago; she would be middle-aged now. I am happy to remember her as youthful and beautiful. Above all, she was committed to Christ! A few days before she died, her last email to a good friend ended with “God is awesome!”
Happy Birthday in Heaven, Karin! Lots of love from Mom.
