I Am Sold Out!

A baneful loved one accuses me of being hateful.  I have tried to explain a zillion times, I am deeply hurt by the actions of this person and others.  Hurt is God’s protection of my heart, but it can be seen by others as anger or hate.  The accusation came again this week.  In trying to explain my feelings which do not include one ounce of hatred, I found the perfect word to describe my viewpoint:  distrust.  I love these people, but they have proven their word and conduct cannot be trusted.  I can forgive them of their deeds, but that does not mean I can trust them.  It is inconceivable that people propagate their personal preferences over God’s commands, then claim they are exonerated.

My church choir began learning a new gospel song:  “Sold Out” by Ernest Estee Bullock and Nate McNair.  There is no doubt, God gave me this song at a time I needed it:
I am sold out;
My mind is made up.
Who can separate us from the love of Jesus?
Not death, nor life.
Jesus paid the price,
Now I’m free from sin.
I am sold out.
My mind is made up.
I’ve come through the fire;
I’ve come through the rain,
But God, He never left my side.
He’s my comfort through all hurt and pain.
I am sold out.
My mind is made up.
My heart is fixed; my mind’s made up.
No room, no vacancies;
I’m all filled up.
His Spirit lives in me,
And that’s the reason I’m sold out!
Yeah!
Are saved?  Are you changed?
Yeah!
Have you been set free?
Yeah!
Have you been redeemed?
Yeah!
Has he filled you up?
Yeah!
Oh, is your mind made up?
Yeah!
I am!  I am!  I am sold out;
My mind is made up.
My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up.
No room, no vacancies; I’m all filled up.
His Spirit lives in me,
And that’s the reason I’m sold out!

My love is pure and unadulterated.  But without trust, a relationship is severely damaged.  Thank God his Spirit lives within me and guides my footsteps.  I am sold out!
